So my last post was about waiting...and I bet you've been
waiting for me to post something else, huh?! Sorry, but I couldn't resist. I'm back at it today. It's been just a crazy week or so with busyness at work and home. Not going to get any less busy in the near future, but I'm going to try to do a better job of keeping up. Here's just a little about what' I've been up to...plus a yummy recipe for you:
I joined in on a 25 pushups/day challenge from registered dietitian nutritionist
Kate Scarlata.
I've continued to make delicious baby food and wholesome treats for Baby G, like these no-sugar added banana muffins.
|
I used this recipe, but added 1/2 cup applesauce and left out the nuts
because G's not ready for whole pieces of nuts yet. |
The meat on our plates is shrinking and the vegetables are growing. Even my green vegetable averse husband is cleaning his plate.
|
Mixed greens and avocado salad with honey mustard dressing, sliced apple,
roasted garlic broccoli, and a small piece of rotisserie chicken. |
I participated in a fun 5k event to benefit
Mercy Ministries with my little sister, Baby G, and a sweet friend.
I made an awesome Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie because I was out of cookies and ice cream and realized I didn't need either with a smoothie like this.
|
Well, there was a smoothie, but it was delicious and didn't last long enough for a photo. |
Make your own delicious and slightly indulgent smoothie (and share since this recipe makes two generous helpings) by following this recipe:
- 2 medium very ripe bananas
- 2 cups milk
- 2 Tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 Tbs white chocolate peanut butter (or regular peanut butter)
- 1 scoop protein powder
- 1 cup ice
- 2 tsp honey (optional)
Blend everything together until frothy. Divide evenly between two large glasses. Mmmmmm...yum!
What have you been up to? Tomorrow's the first day of Lent; are you giving anything up?
